In many companies, printing costs are on average 30% higher than optimal. This is due to the use of color printers instead of black-and-white ones, employees printing personal documents, and inefficient placement of copying equipment, which leads to increased wear and tear on devices.

One design institute implemented the SCOPD system to monitor the use of printing devices. The system allowed precise budgeting for each project and identified improper use of the wide-format printer and other printing devices. It was found that company personnel were using the printer not only for work purposes but also for printing posters, calendars, and other personal items. To prevent such situations in the future, the management conducted an explanatory session with the employees.
