Software Monitoring and Employee Time Tracking
A designer at a printing company was tasked with creating a layout for a promotional brochure. The specialist assured management that specific software for working with graphics was essential for the job.
After missing the deadline, management reviewed the data from the SCOPD system. It revealed that, in addition to working on the layout in graphic editors, the designer spent time visiting online forums and entertainment websites, all while convincing management that the layout was being developed. The activity analysis showed that, out of an 8-hour workday, only 4 hours were spent on job-related tasks, while 50% of paid time was used for entertainment. Furthermore, software for which funds had been allocated was not used by the designer for six months, despite claims that the need for these programs was high.
